I got to talk all the different people in the public that is and met some very interesting people

What is the best part of working at the company? There is none I was released from duty due to a slight handicap and not offered any kind of accommodation to compensate for it. While on firearms qualifications, we were required to kneel down and fire at a target. I could not get back up without using my expandable baton as sort of a crutch as it is part of my uniform they would not let me use this other than that I passed all firearm qualifications and defensive tactics without any problem, that’s why I gave one starWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? There was no stress probably the easiest job ever had a just a normal Security Job dealing with the public

Dealing with rude supervisors.

Easy money

Computer scans patrol the area work place culture was terrible. The only con was that as a supervisor you’re making $35 an hour. Wasn’t much OT as promised

Awful and Exhausting

The pay they offer was competitive maybe 10-15 years ago, but they want you to still act and perform as if they are giving you a livable salary today. The union you're required to be apart of siphons funds and does nothing but offer donuts at annual training events. The company will gladly replace you or throw you under the bus during even the slightest of criticism. You have to work with the public so not everything will be perfect all the time, and the first time you have even a minor complaint or upset citizen, you might as well start applying for a new job because you are just meat to these people. Management will only help you if you pose a threat to them, all other cases you are left in a famous "gray area". Seek only as last resort

Corporate Micromanagement, Great Coworkers

Working for Paragon is boring 99% of your days. You’ll be expected to keep up on a multitude of certifications (CPR/AED, Handcuff, Baton, Federal Pistol Qualification, OPOTA, OC Spray, NWDTP) while barely earning more than security jobs elsewhere that require 1-2 certificates. On top of that corporate will continually send out QC Inspectors to ensure we stick strictly to the contract (uniform, equipment, etc.) however the uniforms and equipment you’ll receive are extremely cheap (you’ll go through multiple pairs of pants and shirts and your feet will hurt from the boots), but if you invest in your own pants/boots they will reprimand you for the smallest of things (a hidden zipper pocket or a brand tag on the back pocket). On top of all of this corporate is extremely unwilling to work with PSOs when it comes to negotiating our union contract with them. After the covid inflation hike, they promised a “robust pay raise” yet ended up giving us 85 cent pay bump. When you’re a new hire, you’ll be expected to drive up to two hours to post where you’re typically the only one there with no relief. You’re not allowed to eat on post, but given no lunch break unless you work downtown (even that’s 50/50) and there are no phones allowed on post (but they expect to be able to reach you by personal cell). The captain and lieutenant are great, they’ll do as much as they can for you, but corporate is constantly raining down on them and instituting new policies on PSOs with no benefit to offset the new headache. Your coworkers, though, are fantastic. Most are ex military/law enforcement and if -

Good pay but they expect the world for it

With mileage factored in, I earn about $40 an hour. However, they give the investigators far too many assignments to complete in the allocated time. They won't say it, but what the company really wants is for employees to work five to seven extra hours each week for no pay in order to make themselves look highly productive and efficient. As far as I'm concerned, they consistently skirt federal labor laws to increase their profit margin. It's okay for the short-term, but I feel bad for the investigators who have been "stuck" doing this for a really long time.

They want to go in another direction so it made the job a little difficult at times but not all the time.

Paragon has the potential to be a rewarding place to work, though upper management has not taken any action to improve employee satisfaction.

What is the best part of working at the company? The amount of holidays and PTO was decent. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Leadership and communication was lacking in all departments creating a constant feeling of uneasiness. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Interdepartmental relations and communications were poor at best. Sometimes resentment toward other departments was fostered by upper management.

Good company to work for

Good people and straight forward work. You are well taken care of and training is given. Hours are very flexible and supervisors generally try and accommodate you when making a schedule.

The job is a great career for those exiting from a police career or looking to get into that field

What is the best part of working at the company? The pay is very good. Offer a stable career choice or a platform to move into similar filedsWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?I would recommend better training for use of force and firearm qualifications. They're so many qualified individuals that work for the company and available programs, that could provide excellent Use of Force training. Also, medical training. I don't feel that the regular CPR/AED is sufficient. Again, we have qualified individuals that work for the company that could provide a comprehensive system for the company. (TCCC or TECC)What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment depends on where you're posted.

A lot of hours, terrible scheduling

Easy job, but inconsistent schedule that you have to be willing to be flexible to work whenever, no job security and benefits are poor, very simple job
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Eh

It’s a ok job if you want to get into the federal field, otherwise there are no real advancement opportunities. Never truly feel like your job is not in jeopardy.
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Good pay

Will make good money with the company when numbers aren’t at capacity. Be prepared to pay for parking, not covered by company nor any discounted passes.
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

It’s ok.

If you’re looking for that family kind of treatment then look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a professional place to work and make some money than look no further. Yes, this place has it’s flaws but every workplace does. Management sucks pretty much from the site level and up but site level management is a hit or miss as you could have a good site manager. Personally, I’ve had little issues and when I pressed my issues they were addressed. Easy gig, and nice equipment. Just do your 8 and hit the gate. Insurance is expensive, and at lots of sites they try to limit you to 32-36hrs but it’s usually wishful thinking on their part because of schedule changes (adding OT) due to high turnover.

Local management doesn’t know what they are doing. Scheduling is a nightmare

If your willing to work and don’t have a family this is a job for you. Be very flexible and don’t expect a lot of structure with local management. You will be asked to drive all over DFW. Herndon VA ( the HR) department is in shambles. Everyone worthy in that department has resigned

Pros

Pay rate

Contras

The overall experience was very unprofessional and the Acting DS was not capable of doing the task at hand.

What is the best part of working at the company?I don't have an answer to this questionWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? They don't communicate well with employees. The company doesn't have structure nor do they operate the same with each employee. They're unprofessional and don't keep their word. I started and was told if I had prior plans like vacations, I would be able to submit LWOP. I had to cancel my vacation. My leave was not approved. I emailed the person who didn't approve and his supervisor. My leave was never considered for approval dispirited being reassured if I started before the date in question. They don't honor their word. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Somewhat hostile, unpleasant leads, under staffed. Leads who have no skills acting in the place of supervisors showing favoritism in assignments and training is selective to control workers. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Unpleasant due to a CSO and the Lead not having knowledge of their rolls nor the importance of all officers being properly trained equally.
