I got hired and the person who hired me offered me a lot of things “Trying to get people in.” I did travel 1 hour and 45 minutes to sign in my paperwork. This person never mentioned to me that my post was required to be on Sun during a hot summer at 110 degrees for 12 hours. They expect you to do patrol just walking. Yes, the pay can be good, but literally, all the guards are quick for the same reason. The company needs to do something about it.

Non communication and you get stuck because they don't relieve you at times. They overwhelmed you with hours. They never go by what they say. You take lunch at your post. You are not allow to leave for lunch.

Manager Job is a joke

Metro 1 Manager job is a joke. You’re expected to be on call 24/7, poorly compensated. Recruiting is terrible, you’re constantly short staffed, managers are expected to fill the gaps at no additional pay. You can’t fire people who need to be fired and when you correct behaviors and the guard cries (literally) the manager gets fired. 0/10.

Easy job and great pay but horrible communication with management

One of the easiest jobs you will ever have and decent pay, but the management is horrible with communication and is extremely unorganized. It is very frustrating when management never gets back to you when you text, email or call. Very unprofessional. Other than that it is a great gig.

One The Most Unorganized Companies I Have EVER Worked For

I was an flex officer and if I couldn’t come in for 1 shift they would take me off the schedule completely, I am not the only person this happened with. They will contact me to take a shift , I’ll agree and then never here anything again about the shift. Everyone has a different opinion on what flex is and they have changed the pay 3 times.. VERY UNORGANIZED.. Worst company!

Metro is your average security company. However, they are a runt compared to the behemoths of Allied Universal and others. It shows in the backend. However, being smaller, they do secure lucrative contracts at a higher pay for officers depending on posts. My post had great pay - comparable to Federal contracts - but the supervisor left much to be desired. Being a small company, things are very personal and lines are crossed constantly. The quality of officer they hire is laughable - you'll get private investigators, military officers and then you'll get sketchy officers with a bad drug history. If they tightened up and showed some professionalism, it'd be a great job and they'd go far. As far the supervisor issue - well, that's just security, isn't it? IYKYK

Poor Management and Accountability

This particular branch hires the wrong kind of people a lot and ends up having to move or fire most of them. Apparently they also don’t do proper background checks. Nothing done for moral, no PTO.

Poor Management, call themselves leadership

Show up for work in time and walk the store you are assigned. You are a walking billboard deterrent. Manager always grouping the lazy officers with the hard workers. Instead of fixing the problem one on one they make it out as everyone is not doing their job.

Awful Management/Disrespectful

Just don't. If the company loses contracts or has to cut back on the number of officers in a location, they do not give you enough notice. I have seen other officers be left hanging with a simple "Sorry". When our site lost the contract, the home office failed to contact me to place me in another location. It has been months and absolutely no phone calls or emails from the people at the home office. They are NOT afraid to force an officer to pull doubles, or even triple shifts from what I have heard. Management overall is a complete joke and they do not care about you as a person. There are better companies out there and you deserve better.
